These slim-cut shorts from Kalf use a four-way stretch fabric that’s incredibly comfy and light, making them great for long stints in the saddle. Be warned that the tailored fit only works with slim knee pads. There are two shallow, zipped pockets at the rear and another on the thigh, which you’ll not comfortably squeeze much more than cash and keys into. Velcro waist tabs help you tailor the fit and there are belt loops just in case. It’s good there’s a hook-and-bar closure above the fly, because the magnetic tab isn’t strong enough on its own.
