Polaris Aquanought waterproof bumbag £44.99

Mountain Biking UK - - WRECKED & RATED -

Bumbags are right in the firing line of rear wheel spray, so the waterproof fabric Polaris have used on the Aquanought makes a lot of sense. The bag’s simple construction and waterproof zip lower the risk of water ingress and keep it fairly light. And it works, with our kit inside the pack never getting wet during testing. When riding, the wings at the sides, which have small zipped mesh pockets, add stability to the pack. At the front, the waist strap is relatively narrow, which is fine most of the time, but a bit more depth would improve comfort when the pack is heavily loaded. The rigid back panel does help comfort and stability though, and means the contents never dig into your back. A light loop on the front and a carry handle are nice touches. Other than a single basic, thin internal pocket (ideally sized for a phone), there’s little in the way of tricks and features, but this keeps the price fairly sensible and makes it easy to use.
