Bridgedale Stormsock Lightweight Boot waterproof socks £35

-

These waterproof socks are a good shape, aren’t too thick or heavy and do a decent job of keeping your feet dry. Despite the fine-knit merino inner, they’re not the warmest, but do feel almost as comfy as regular merino socks once on. These ‘lightweight’ versions aren’t as thick as many waterproof socks so they don’t affect the fit of your shoes (something that can impact comfort on longer rides). Be sure to check Bridgedale’s size guide though, because they come in four different sizes. There’s no silicone gripper inside the cuff but we’ve had no issues with the socks drooping while riding. On properly wet days, they do a decent job of keeping water out, even when your shoes are sodden. As with many waterproof socks, they’re not very breathable, so your feet can get sweaty on milder days. Rob www.bridgedale.com
