The small but very friendly Talybont Stores cafe at the start is perfect for a pre-ride breakfast or co ee, and the local bike shop is handily situated just next door, for spares, energy foods and route advice. There’s outdoor seating and a bike rack too. For something more substantial after the ride, the Star Inn, just down the road, has a good size garden if the sun is still out, a cosy interior if it’s not and serves up a decent choice of food and drink whatever the weather. Out on the ride at the furthest point, just o the route is the Dragon’s Back pub, open on Saturdays, 12.30 to late.
