antur stiniog
Situated in beautiful Snowdonia National Park, Antur Stiniog is a dedicated downhill centre with multiple runs to choose from, graded from blue to double-black. It’s a formidable location opposite a huge slate quarry, so expect lots of rock slabs on the open hillside. You can get in up to 20 runs a day on the uplift service (£34.50 for a full day at the weekend, £5 for a single trip, when available), so the only thing stopping you will be your energy levels! Three new descents are due to be built for this summer (not listed below) – a 2km green-graded flow trail aimed at beginners and families; a natural, unsurfaced 1.5km red run; and an 800m all-natural black section.
essential info the trails JYMPAR 1.8km
Smooth and fast, with sweeping turns and flowy singletrack.
DRAFFT 2km
This red run has been redeveloped into a top-to-bottom jump line for maximum airtime.
SCRYBADYB 600m
Another jump-packed option, which leads straight into Wild Cart.
WILD CART 1.7km
A super-steep roll-in is followed by a seemingly endless series of berms and jumps.
BLACK POWDER 1.6km
Shares its top 50m with Y Du before a series of berms sends you down the other side of the hill. There are steep banks and tight turns, along with fun sections that are flat-out fast.
Y DU 1.4km
Antur Stiniog call this a ‘premier DH run’. It’s fast and flowy at the top, becoming steeper and rougher over the big rock slabs nearer the bottom of the track.
BENDY-G 1.2km
An unsurfaced, natural, black-graded trail that tests riders’ abilities to the full. Beware – it’s unpredictable when wet!
