DMR V11 nylon flat pedals £50

-

The V11s’ glass-reinforced nylon body is a generous 105x105mm in size and provides a stable platform. It’s large enough that we could easily and repeatedly place our feet in a comfortable position, and the outer, sharper Moto Pins provided secure traction on the odd occasion when we weren’t able to locate our feet centrally over the pedal body. With high levels of traction and a large margin of error for foot placement – thanks to the lack of any bearing bulge, plus the body sitting 10mm from the crank arm – the V11s provide brilliant confidence on technical and demanding terrain. We never felt like our feet were clawing around the pedals trying to hold on, or noticed them slipping around. Despite weighing just 442g, our test set have shrugged off rock strikes well, suffering only minor cosmetic damage, and we haven’t managed to bend the chromoly axle, despite the pedals hitting the floor and rocks multiple times. There’s no sign of deterioration, play or roughness in the bearings and bushings, either. The pins have remained tight and in place, suffering no more than a few scuffs. Generous cutaways inside the pedal body help mud to clear well, too. DMR say the internals are fully rebuildable with spare parts widely available from shops, so while these may not be the cheapest nylon pedals, they should be good value in the long term.
