IT’S COMING HOME!
The Enduro World Series returns to the UK – and this is one inal we might actually win
After a six-year hiatus, the Enduro World Series returns to the UK this autumn. Not only that, but the Vittoria EWS Tweed Valley is the season finale of the seven-round series, so you can expect some big names and nail-biting action. After Harriet Harnden’s win in Italy and solid performances from fellow Brits Katy Winton, Ella Conolly, Bex Baraona and Elliott Heap (above), we’ve got to be in with a shout, in the women’s at least.
The racing takes place on the legendary trails around Innerleithen. This small Scottish town is home to some of the best hand-built and natural singletrack in the world, from high-speed sections through the heather to tight and twisty technical stages in the woods. It’s the only chance this year to see the world’s best riders compete on home soil, so if you’ve always fancied seeing Sam
Hill get loose in the turns or local hero Katy Winton float through the roots – or even want to have a go yourself – get yourself along to the Tweed Valley race festival from 30 September to 3 October.
There’s plenty going on besides the main event, including amateur and kids’ races, plus the final of the EWS-E e-bike championship. The festival village is the place to be, with loads of bike brands in attendance, an airbag and pump track, demo bikes, family-friendly entertainment, street food and more. Add the chance to check out the latest tech in the race paddock and plenty of fringe events, from film nights to ride-outs, and it’s looking like an essential weekend for fans of mountain biking.
