SUNGOD AIRAS ZF GLASSES

£130 Futuristic frameless eyewear designed in Bedford

-

Launched via a crowdfunding campaign in 2013, SunGod now offer six models of sunglasses and outfit a number of road teams. Their Pace Series glasses look like they should work well for mountain biking, too, including these new Airas ZFs. Going frameless has enabled SunGod to offer the maximum field of view with minimum obstruction. To maintain durability, they’ve created a lens shape designed to enhance strength in key areas and prevent excessive flex. Boldly, they claim that their new 8KO lens has better optical clarity than equivalents from rivals Oakley and 100%. You get an anti-fog coating, triple-layer scratch protection and a hydrophobic treatment to shed water. ‘Grip-lock’ hydrophilic (moisture-attracting) ear socks and nose pads should provide a secure fit while keeping sweat away from your face. The Airas glasses are also available with a bottom frame for £25 extra (Airas BF), or for £45 you can get a conversion kit to switch between the two. You can customise the colour of the arms/nosepiece, ear socks, logos and optional bottom frame at no extra cost. There are 10 lens tints to choose from, including photochromic options (seen here) for an additional £40. www.sungod.co
