FABIEN BAREL

The calculated tactician of top-level DH, Frenchman Fabien Barel secured his place in the history books with backto-back World Champs wins in 2004 and 2005. One of the first pros to see the potential and prove the advantages of progressive geometry, the success Barel achieved on his – at the time – crazy-slack Mondraker Summum had a lasting impact on bike design. Switching to enduro and joining the Canyon team in 2013, he had several successful years racing in the Enduro World Series. He now mentors the likes of Troy Brosnan.
