Unexpectedly, I got the air leakage from my Fox Float X2 Factory shock sorted pretty quickly. An EWS race was held near my home in Austria, so the Fox technicians fixed the issue with a seal and valve change, and I didn’t have to send it to a service centre. I’ve also added a volume spacer (I’m now running two) to match the fork’s progressivity. The Vitus’s suspension feels more balanced now. However, the frame really took a beating on the rough and steep trails of the Portes du Soleil during a recent trip, and has lost some of its smoothness. When taking out the rear wheel and shock, it became clear that new frame bearings are badly needed.
