This kit combines Wolf Tooth’s 8-Bit Pack Pliers multi-tool (£76 on its own) with their 8-Bit Chainbreaker + Utility Knife (also £76) and their 8-Bit Tire Lever + Rim Dent Remover (£21), all made from lightweight 7075-T6 aluminium, so represents pretty good value despite the high price. You get 21 functions in all. The pack pliers (bottom), as reviewed in MBUK 399, can be used to fit and remove nine- to 12-speed MTB chain master-links, and also to tighten valve-stem locknuts, plus you get an array of magnetic attachments hidden inside the handles. These fit into a swivel head, which doubles as an 8mm Allen key, and include a spoke wrench, valve-core tool, valvestem de-clogger plus storage for a spare master-link, on top of the usual Allen keys (2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5 and 6mm), T10 and T25 Torx bits, and flat-head and Phillips drivers. The tyre tool (middle) has a plastic lever at one end and a metal dent-remover at the other, while the chain tool (top) comes with an L-shaped 3mm Allen key that doubles up as both the handle of the chain breaker and a forked tyre-plug inserter. There’s also storage for tyre plugs and a valve core, plus a spare mini utility blade. All three tools nest together using magnets for compact storage.
