ENDURA SINGLETRACK II

Despite Endura’s guide stating that the small size fits a 31-33in waist, our tester, who has a 30in waist, had no issues cinching the SingleTrack IIs up nice and tight. Two Velcro adjusters at the rear of the high-backed waistband make it easy to tailor the fit, and don’t interfere with comfort. If the tabs aren’t quite enough for you, Endura have included belt loops, too. To ensure the trousers stay fastened, the brand have gone above and beyond with a zipped fly, double poppers and a hook-and-bar closure. The pants are made from durable nylon, with tougher panels in high-wear areas (the seat and lower legs) and reinforced stitching in key places, too. Despite their robust, feature-laden construction, they articulate really well, fitting and moving over knee pads nicely. In terms of fit, they feel great around the waist, hips and upper thighs, but the looser, baggier cut, with roomier legs that don’t taper as much as on some pants here, left material bunching up around the ankles on our shorter-legged tester. This wasn’t a major issue in the dry, but once the trousers were wet and heavier, it was hard to ignore the excess fabric flapping around. The SingleTrack IIs are jampacked with features, although some don’t feel overly necessary. Three zipped pockets (all on the hips, with one smaller one sized perfectly for a phone) mean you can carry essentials easily and securely. Zipped, mesh-backed vents run down the length of both thighs and are designed to let heat escape, though we never felt the need to use them. Silicone print lines the inside-rear of the waistband to help keep the trousers in place, plus there are ‘ClickFast’ poppers, designed to connect with a corresponding pair of Endura liner shorts.
