DIRT FARM (FORMERLY BLACK MOUNTAINS CYCLE CENTRE)

-

Opened back in 2014, this venue has a new name for 2022 but is still the same place we know and love. Set on a working sheep farm in the Brecon Beacons, there are few better places for getting airtime. Trail builder Shaun Bevan has let his imagination run wild to create interlinking lines of pristine jumps and corners. Chug up the hill on the tractor uplift, take in the stunning views and choose your descent – mellow turns or lines of jumps, some measuring over 30ft. Over the past year they’ve done a lot of track tweaking and given the lines some TLC. There are 16 runs in all, graded from intermediate (mostly rollable) to pro. Online booking only.

Rabbit Run 0.8km

A gentle introduction to the Dirt Farm style, Rabbit Run weaves its way down the hill with plenty of rollers and optional gaps along the way. Link it into Well-Oiled Weasel for a top-to-bottom flow fest.

Tidy Darts 0.3km

This short, yet super-fun, run of jumps finishes near its start point, so it’s the perfect place for a session when you’re too tired for full runs or just want to shake out your trick bag.

Moto 1km

Sending you zipping around berms and launching off tabletops, Moto is the most popular trail in the park. It’s the perfect warm-up for its big brother, Full Moto.

Bomper 0.8km

The newest trail at Dirt Farm weaves its way through the midst of everything else and combines all that’s great about the riding here, with steep interlinking berms, step-ups and hips aplenty.

Full Moto 0.4km

This is what you came here for! A flat-out run of big tabletop jumps, culminating in big stepdowns and step-ups. It’s arguably the best jump line in the UK, and had a lot of work over lockdown, but demands expert skills.
