Mansfield and Buller farewell a true gentleman of the alps

Mt Buller News - - FRONT PAGE -

AFTER a brief illness, Phil Meehan passed away peacefully on August 6, 2018, surrounded by his family.

Many residents of Mansfield, and Mt Buller regulars, may have come across Phil in his long association in the ski industry – from skiing at Mt Buller in the late 1970s to importing Lacroix skis in the same period, before taking ownership of Bill Duff’s Ski Hire (Mt Buller 1985-1991).

Phil was the original ‘P’ in PJs Ski Hire in Mansfield between 1990 and 1993, and was an important figure of Bumps Ski and Surf from the mid to late 1990s.

Over the last 14 years, he and Judy have been based in Heathcote, where they have been busy building a vineyard and winery business from scratch.

In honour of Phil, the Meehan family has requested donations in lieu of flowers page, where donations can be made in memory of Phil, who was a true gentleman.
