Po­lice hunt thieves

PO­LICE be­lieve the same per­son or per­sons were be­hind three at­tempted bur­glar­ies on Myrtle­ford busi­nesses at the week­end.

The Stan­dish Street Surgery, Myrtle­ford Bowl­ing Club and an­other un­named busi­ness were all tar­geted.

Myrtle­ford po­lice Lead­ing Se­nior Con­sta­ble An­thony Short be­lieves they were look­ing for cash.

“The per­son or per­sons have only gained ac­cess to the surgery but noth­ing was taken,” he said.

“In the other two cases they have sim­ply dam­aged prop­erty in an at­tempt to force their way into the premises.

“Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing and a num­ber of items have been seized for foren­sic test­ing.”
