DE­SPITE less than two mil­lime­tres of rain in Fe­bru­ary the hot and dry weather hasn’t been a bad thing for farm­ers, rather what is wanted and what’s ex­pected.

Usu­ally the hottest and se­cond dri­est month of the year Fe­bru­ary has been that, more so than nor­mal.

But with wine har­vest four weeks through, hot and dry weather is just what pro­duc­ers hope for at this time, ev­ery year.

Buck­land grape grower Mick Dal­bosco said the dry weather has been ideal af­ter plenty of rain in De­cem­ber and Jan­uary.
