RACING returns to the Tawonga’s Alpine Raceway this weekend.

It will be the first speedway meet at the Kiewa Valley track in 2016 following the cancellation of the traditional New Year’s meeting.

With the Dederang Hotel signed up as the meeting sponsor club president Jo Iaria said things were set for the day’s racing.

“It’ll be a great day out for the family with a range of classes to entertain the crowd,” Mr Iaria said.

“In particular we have a great field of Vic Sports already registered for the day.

“This class always puts on very close racing and it’ll be the drivers’ last chance to get some practice on our track before the major two-day meeting over Easter when $1000 will be on the line for the dash for cash shootout.”

Racing gets under way at midday on Sunday, March 6.
