NBN now available for more than 1000 properties in the Kiewa Valley
UPPER Kiewa Valley residents can now place an order through their preferred phone and internet provider, for a plan over the NBN access network.
Over 1,100 homes and businesses in Mt Beauty and Tawonga South join more than 400 premises on the outskirts of both towns which have been able to take advantage of services over NBN’s fixed wireless technology since 2016.
Head of NBN local Victoria and Tasmania Ebony Aitken said people in parts of Mt Beauty and Tawonga South can now connect to a plan by contacting their preferred phone and internet provider to discuss their internet usage and determine a package that suits their needs.
“Connecting to a plan through your preferred phone and internet provider means the whole house can enjoy access to the benefits of fast internet such as on-demand entertainment options, access to online learning tools and the ability to work remotely,” she said.
“For the first time local residents also have a choice of speeds when selecting a broadband package – people should ask their phone and internet provider about the actual speeds they can expect to experience when they switch to a plan over the NBN access network, par- ticularly during peak times.
“It’s important to remember that making the switch is not automatic, to continue using your landline and internet services, you’ll need to contact your preferred phone and internet provider to place an order.”
More than 1.4 million homes and businesses in parts of Vic- toria are ready to connect to the NBN and enjoy the benefits of access to fast broadband.
There are more than 150 phone and internet providers that sell retail plans over the NBN access network.
