Roffey receives state honour for service to basketball clubs across North East
TAWONGA resident Kelly Roffey was recently named the Female Administrator of the Year at a Basketball Victoria Country (BVC) awards night in Bendigo.
The Judy Doye Award is given to individuals (paid or unpaid) in recognition of a significant contribution to basketball in a BVC association and/or club.
During her time working as an administrator with clubs in Wodonga, Myrtleford and Mt Beauty, Roffey has been instrumental in transferring many administrative processes, including registrations online.
Roffey helped establish the Mt Beauty Basketball Association 10 years ago with her husband Mark, and also offers administrative support to the Myrtleford and District competition, who have called her a great friend of the association.
She said it was an honour and very humbling to receive the award.
“Basketball is what I love, and I am very lucky to be involved in something I feel so passionate about,” Roffey said.
“In my current role I get to introduce juniors to a sport I love so much and I get to network with some amazing basketball people.” PROUD: Kelly Roffey was recognised for her administrative work in country basketball at a ceremony two weeks ago.
