Lo­cal man faces court for of­fence

FIVE men have ap­peared be­fore the Myrtle­ford Mag­is­trates Court for il­le­gal deer spot­light­ing in Au­gust last year.

A Myrtle­ford man was placed on a 12-month good be­hav­iour bond with­out con­vic­tion and or­dered to pay $750 to char­ity af­ter be­ing charged for be­ing in pos­ses­sion of a firearm, four high­pow­ered torches and am­mu­ni­tion in recog­nised deer habi­tat near Cheshunt on Au­gust 13.

His Tas­ma­nian friend pleaded guilty and was fined $750.

Three men from Shep­par­ton were also charged for be­ing in pos­ses­sion of two firearms, two high­pow­ered torches and am­mu­ni­tion near Tolmie on Au­gust 10 last year.
