Students participate in Planet Ark initiative
TREE DAY: Porepunkah Primary students headed down to Alpine Park to plant trees recently.

POREPUNKAH Primary School grade 4-6 students got their hands dirty for National Tree Day recently.
The students were joined by Upper Ovens Landcare group members on Friday, July 27 to plant a number of native species along the banks of the Ovens River in Alpine Park following recent some flood prevention work undertaken by North East Catchment Management Authority.
A number of students also participated in the tree planting day last weekend near Telford Lane in Porepunkah, helping to plant new vegetation at the confluence of the Buckland and Ovens rivers.
