TREE DAY: Pore­punkah Pri­mary stu­dents headed down to Alpine Park to plant trees re­cently.

GET­TING IN­VOLVED: Cait­lan Young, Char­lotte Chan­non and Ali­son Hore worked to­gether as a team FUN MORN­ING: Na­u­fal and Maliq Tara and Ty­lor Ker­ridge get to work.

PORE­PUNKAH Pri­mary School grade 4-6 stu­dents got their hands dirty for Na­tional Tree Day re­cently.

The stu­dents were joined by Up­per Ovens Land­care group mem­bers on Fri­day, July 27 to plant a num­ber of na­tive species along the banks of the Ovens River in Alpine Park fol­low­ing re­cent some flood prevention work un­der­taken by North East Catch­ment Man­age­ment Author­ity.

A num­ber of stu­dents also par­tic­i­pated in the tree plant­ing day last week­end near Telford Lane in Pore­punkah, help­ing to plant new veg­e­ta­tion at the con­flu­ence of the Buck­land and Ovens rivers.
