Work­shops to ben­e­fit job­seek­ers and farm­ers

MYRTLE­FORD Neigh­bour­hood Cen­tre is join­ing forces with Wodonga TAFE to present to lo­cals a free work­shop for job­seek­ers on Fri­day, Oc­to­ber 5.

Scott O’Brien, who has over 20 years’ ex­pe­ri­ence in as­sist­ing peo­ple to gain em­ploy­ment will be the guest speaker for the event.

Mr O’Brien’s pre­sen­ta­tion will be based around his expert in­sight into what em­ploy­ers are look­ing for in the North East Re­gion in 2018 and be­yond.

Top­ics in­cluded will be re­sume ad­vice, job search tips and ad­vice, how to en­ter the hid­den job mar­ket, cover let­ters and how to stand out in a crowd.

The free work­shop will start at the Neigh­bour­hood Cen­tre from 11.30am and will in­clude a pro­vided lunch.

One-to-one men­tor­ing sup­port will also be avail­able free of charge at the con­clu­sion of the work­shop.

The Myrtle­ford Neigh­bour­hood Cen­tre will also host a free work­shop to­mor­row, to help farm­ers bet­ter un­der­stand their fi­nances.

The in­ter­ac­tive work­shop that will run from 9am un­til 3.30pm will be fa­cil­i­tated by Tony Hud­son.

Mr Hud­son is a busi­ness fa­cil­i­ta­tor and trainer also with over 20 years’ ex­pe­ri­ence, he has worked in agri­cul­ture, fi­nance, op­er­a­tions man­age­ment, adult ed­u­ca­tion and train­ing.

Mr Hud­son has also de­liv­ered sim­i­lar work­shops right across Aus­tralia with ex­cep­tional re­views.

Top­ics ex­plored in­clude; un­der­stand­ing how banks as­sess fi­nances, ne­go­ti­at­ing a bet­ter in­ter­est rate, un­der­stand­ing busi­ness risk and cal­cu­lat­ing fi­nan­cial risk.
