Young Savoys cel­e­brate sea­son

MYRTLE­FORD Savoy’s ju­niors have cel­e­brated an­other suc­cess­ful sea­son at their pre­sen­ta­tion day ear­lier this month.

Myrtle­ford played in a Grand Fi­nal at un­der 12 level and fin­ished fifth and sixth in the un­der 13s and 11s re­spec­tively.

The un­der 13 girls also cel­e­brated a much im­proved year, scor­ing 42 goals on their way to fin­ish­ing fifth with a largely in­ex­pe­ri­enced side.

Un­der 12s and 13s star Lachy MacGowan re­ceived recog­ni­tion for a stel­lar sea­son by tak­ing out the best and fairest and play­ers’ player award in his own age group un­der 12s, as well as the play­ers’ player for the un­der 13s.

The tech­ni­cally gifted mid­fielder has a promis­ing ca­reer ahead of him and also showed his big game ca­pa­bil­i­ties with a sec­ond half brace in the in the un­der 12s’ 4-2 cup fi­nal loss to Co­bram.

Nathan Caponec­chia edged out MacGowan for the un­der 13s best and fairest while Kaden Saric and Max Van­loon re­ceived the coaches’ awards for their ded­i­ca­tion and hard work in the un­der 13s and un­der 12s re­spec­tively.

In the un­der 13 girls, Madisyn Miller was recog­nised by her peers as the play­ers’ player and Eleisha Baker, Lily No­tar­i­anni and Frankie Car­roll were awarded with coaches’ awards.

For the un­der 11s, Eli Saun­der claimed the best and fairest while Sam Sacco was named play­ers’ player with Jack Lewis re­ceiv­ing the coaches’ award.
