Lawn bowls season rolls around again
Bright Bowls Club’s official opening day was held last Saturday with 30 members attending.
Chairperson Steve Jenvey welcomed all in attendance with particular mention to the new members, then going on to say he hoped all bowlers would have a most en- joyable and successful year.
The pleasure of rolling the first jack was given to Justin Jenvey from the Alpine Observer and the first bowl was sent down by eldest member attending Benny Porcellato.
Two games of triples were played and a magnificent afternoon tea was there for all to partake in
Winners of the Ditch to Ditch and Spider were Bill Hayes and Greg Pepyat.
With only one team winning both games Bill Hayes, Ernie Vanderwert and Jaimee Wal took home the prizes.
Mixed social bowls in mufti will be held every Tuesday starting time 1.30pm names in by 12.30 with visitors and non-members most welcome.
