Lawn bowls sea­son rolls around again

Bright Bowls Club’s of­fi­cial open­ing day was held last Satur­day with 30 mem­bers at­tend­ing.

Chair­per­son Steve Jen­vey wel­comed all in at­ten­dance with par­tic­u­lar men­tion to the new mem­bers, then go­ing on to say he hoped all bowlers would have a most en- joy­able and suc­cess­ful year.

The plea­sure of rolling the first jack was given to Justin Jen­vey from the Alpine Ob­server and the first bowl was sent down by el­dest mem­ber at­tend­ing Benny Por­cel­lato.

Two games of triples were played and a mag­nif­i­cent af­ter­noon tea was there for all to par­take in

Win­ners of the Ditch to Ditch and Spi­der were Bill Hayes and Greg Pepyat.

With only one team win­ning both games Bill Hayes, Ernie Van­der­w­ert and Jaimee Wal took home the prizes.

Mixed so­cial bowls in mufti will be held ev­ery Tues­day start­ing time 1.30pm names in by 12.30 with vis­i­tors and non-mem­bers most wel­come.
