Bright Trails to build new DP trails

Myrtleford Times - - Letters To The Editor -

ALPINE Shire Council was last night expected to announce Bright Trails as the contractor to build more mountain bike tracks at Dinner Plain.

The works will include the construction of 3.8 kilometres of new trail including two elevated structures, and the rehabilitation of 590 metres of redundant trail.

Planning for the development of new mountain bike trails in Dinner Plain commenced in 2015 and approv- als to add 7.1km of trail were secured in 2017.

Stage one of the project, 3.3km of new trail, was successfully delivered earlier this year.

The 3.8km of additional trail for stage two will provide riders of all abilities with access to over 18km of ridable terrain at Dinner Plain.

Alpine Shire Council director assets Will Jeremy said the Dinner Plain community had been engaged throughout planning for new mountain bike trails, from the development of a trail masterplan through to implementation.

“The local mountain bike club, DP Riders, has played an active role throughout the project and continues to support the implementation and maintenance of the trail network,” he said.

Along with construction of the new trail next year, existing signage will upgraded and additional signage put in place.
