A GROUP quilt-making project for the Mt Beauty’s Saturday Stitchers has produced at least 16 brightlycoloured quilts which will be sent to children in need.

The project began with a workshop making a simple chevron and square block, which was then surrounded by a one inch border.

The next stage was a three inch border of Crazy patchwork, followed by a five inch border with some applique appropriate to the rest of the design.

The participants then took their work home to complete the quilting and binding.

Eight of the quilts will be gifts for children being treated in the Albury / odonga Cancer Centre, and eight will be sent to drought-stricken Hay in NSW as gifts to mothers and new babies in the maternity unit.
