Increase in bag limit for Victorian duck season
DAILY bag limits have been increased from two to five game birds, ahead of the opening of a restricted duck season in Victoria next month.
Game Management Victoria also announced it has removed the geographic restriction on hunting teal species, but confirmed all other details for the 2021 season remain the same.
The season opens at 8am on Wednesday, May 26 and closes 30 minutes after sunset on Monday, June 14.
Hunting the Blue-winged Shoveler is prohibited for the entire season.
Seven of the eight species of game duck are permitted to be hunted during the 2021 season, namely Pacific black duck, mountain duck, chestnut teal, grey teal, pink-eared duck, wood duck and hardhead.
