Wickepin demolish Wagin by 109 points
Wickepin piled on eight firstquarter goals to set up a thumping 109-point win over Wagin on Sunday.
It was Wickepin’s second win of the year and kept them in touch with the top four, with the remaining teams having a bye.
Dylan Ross booted six goals and Braden Smith slotted five in the 21.15 (141) to 4.8 (32) win at home.
Ryan Melvin kicked three while Trent O’Brien and Jamie Miller kicked two each.
Wickepin dashed out to a 41point lead at quarter-time before Wagin booted three goals to one in the second term to trim the margin to 29 points at the main break.
However, the game was quickly put beyond doubt in the second half with Wickpin slamming on 11 unanswered goals as Wagin responded with a solitary point.
Wagin have started the year with five straight losses and sit secondlast in seventh, ahead by percentage of Brookton-Pingelly.
