Two new facilities open in town
The Shire of Boddington is celebrating the opening of two new facilities, the Boddington Visitor and Interpretive Centre and Hotham Rise Retirement Village.
The people, events and history that have shaped Boddington’s community will be showcased at the new Visitor and Interpretive Centre, which also incorporates the newly relocated public library as well as a gallery and cafe.
“This is an opportunity to bring together both our community and its visitors in a meaningful and relaxing environment on the foreshore of the Hotham River,” Shire president Martin Glynn said.
The new Hotham Rise Retirement Village will provide retirees and elderly residents who do not require assisted care with independent living units adjacent to the recently upgraded Boddington Hospital and the Boddington Medical Centre.
“These units are a much sought-after alternative for ageing members of our com- munity, rather than being located to remote retirement facilities,” Mr Glynn said.
