Vol­un­teer ser­vice recog­nised

Mem­bers of Pin­gelly’s Vol­un­teer Fire and Res­cue Ser­vice Brigade have been recog­nised for their out­stand­ing ser­vice to the com­mu­nity by DFES Com­mis­sioner Dar­ren Klemm AFSM.

“Whether you re­ceive a five-year award or 45-year award, you should be proud of be­ing part of a team help­ing the com­mu­nity” Mr Klemm said.

Cap­tain Rob­bie Kirk, who joined the brigade in 2000 and has been cap­tain since 2006, was awarded with life mem­ber­ship.

Barry Keys, Shan­non Di­a­mond and Travis Hodges were all awarded with the 5 Year VFRS Ser­vice Medal­lion Na­tional Medal.

Sheina Di­a­mond and Lind­say Johns were awarded with the 10 Year VFRS Ser­vice Medal­lion Na­tional.

The 15 Year VFRS Clasp was handed to Travis Hodges, while Peter Nar­ducci and Tony Nar­ducci re­ceived 40 and 45 Year VFRS Ser­vice Clasps re­spec­tively.

The awards night was held on Satur­day, May 26, at the Pin­gelly Bowling Club to cel­e­brate Vol­un­teer Week

Cap­tain Rob­bie Kirk was pre­sented with life mem­ber­ship.
