IS YOUR BUNNY VACCINATED?!
With the latest release of RHDV1-K5 in process..
The most recent strain of Rabbit haemorrhagic disease (RHD) is being spread across the country in order to help control wild rabbits & to minimise the extensive environmental and agricultural damage being caused. In Australia, wild Rabbits currently threaten the survival of more than 300 native species! The latest strain known as the Korean strain or K5 was found to be more infectious than the previous strain. All rabbit owners are advised to ensure their rabbits are vaccinated!!
THERE IS NO CURE TO RHDV1-K5, SO REMEMBER TO GET YOUR PET BUNNIES VACCINATED!
Talk to your vet for further information on vaccinating your pet rabbits, & other measures to prevent disease. A number of releases will be taking place locally, different groups will be promoting & helping facilitate the spread of K5. While this is happening, please make sure that your pets are vaccinated! Wagin Woodanilling Landcare Zone will be participaing in the release this season, and we want to make sure that rabbit owners are aware of the potential danger to pet bunnies
