‘Team Bond’ hot to trot in early races at Paceway

Narrogin Observer - - Sport - Richard Bell

A cracking, cool Spring night enthralled patrons at the Narrogin Paceway on Saturday for a bumper eight event card.

In the early events team Bond dominated with a quinella in race 1 when talented three-year-old The Buckeye Bullet beat Tinselton.

Promising four-year-old mare Our Alfie Romeo decimated her male rivals in race 4.

The Bonds’ run came to an end in race 5 when Bright Diamond relinquished a clear lead, conquered by a jet propelled One for Sassy who came from last for Madeleine Young.

The main race saw another favourite bite the dust, with The Bucket List being unable to sustain his last lap burst and lowered his colours to the richly talented, fast finisher Royal Mach.

The nine-year-old has been brought along patiently by trainer David Hunter with stable driver Stuart McDonald producing a perfectly timed run from last at the final bend.
