Wagin po­lice warn deal­ers to keep drugs out of town

Am­phet­a­mine al­legedly found “hid­den in a bag of chil­dren’s pop­corn” dur­ing a traf­fic stop on Tu­dor Street in Wagin has led to po­lice warn­ing deal­ers.

“Drug deal­ing is not wel­comed in my town,” was the mes­saged shared by Wagin po­lice via Twit­ter.

The discovering was made on Fri­day.

The driver, a 26-year-old woman from Northam, was taken into cus­tody and charged with pos­sess­ing less than one gram of am­phet­a­mine.

A 25-year-old man from Northam was also taken into cus­tody.

He al­legedly was wanted by po­lice for steal­ing a mo­tor ve­hi­cle in Northam, after be­ing iden­ti­fied by fin­ger­print­ing. He was later re­leased, with in­quiries con­tin­u­ing into the al­leged mo­tor ve­hi­cle theft.
