Swimming Pool Safety Barriers

As the season turns toward summer, private swimming pool owners are reminded to check that their swimming pool safety barrier complies with the relevant regulations, including the gate self closers and self-latches. Over the coming months, an authorised officer from the Shire will be carrying out pool safety barrier inspections on all registered swimming pools. By law, swimming and spa pools that can hold water more than 30cm deep must have an effective safety barrier that restrict access by young children. This includes portable pools. More information can be found on the Shire’s website.
