Her­na­man just fail to top­ple Ca­ble

Her­na­man have fallen just short of a win over Ca­ble in week five of Nar­ro­gin Squash Club’s spring com­pe­ti­tion last Thurs­day night.

Ca­ble’s Sarah Hen­nessey only dropped one game against Vic­tor Ranieri in the top-seeded match of the fix­ture.

Hen­nessey ran out the win­ner 15-5, 15-12, 8-15, 15-12.

Her­na­man’s Libby Hilder was beaten by the buzzer against Dale Woodruff.

Woodruff claimed the first two games 15-11, 17-16, as Hilder took the next two 15-9, 15-14, while Woodruff was lead­ing 3-0 in their fifth game when the buzzer went.

Clive Bartron won Her­na­man’s first match against Michael Fir­man 13-15, 15-11, 15-9, 12-15.

Bartron led 12-7 in the fifth when the buzzer sounded.

De­spite drop­ping the first game 10-15, Tom Or­chard won his match against Jac­qui Hogg for Her­na­man, win­ning the next three 15-12, 15-13, 16-14.

Azhar Awang col­lected the points against Jenni Tul­lett for Ca­ble, tak­ing four matches to one 15-5, 15-7, 15-9, 11-5, 15-9.

How­ever, Tul­lett found re­demp­tion against Tia Stott, claim­ing their match 15-13, 15-13, 12-15, 15-9.
