Narrogin Observer - - News - Michael Traill

UnitingCare Australia and Narrogin Target have again teamed up to help improve the Christmas of struggling families in the region.

Last year the annual Christmas appeal raised $700,000 nationwide from 22,000 donations which reached 22,000 families.

Gift tags worth $2 and $3 gift boxes can be bought in-store from Target for the appeal. However, gifts can also be donated, which will go directly to local families in need.

Uniting Church Narrogin’s Margaret White said gifts left under Narrogin Target’s Christmas tree was a way for the community to support members of the town.

“In Narrogin, the Uniting Church doesn’t have a welfare program of its own, we liaise with the Salvation Army,” she said.

“Any gifts that come in go to them, so all the gifts stay in the district.”

The appeal will run until December 24.
