Wil­liams in se­cond af­ter Pin­gelly rout

Wil­liams sit in se­cond place of the UGSCA dur­ing the mid-sea­son break af­ter a dom­i­nant seven-wicket vic­tory against Pin­gelly-Noonebin in round 9.

Cap­tain Rod­ney Ford was again in­stru­men­tal in the home side’s vic­tory, chok­ing Pin­gelly’s run rate — con­ced­ing only 11 runs from nine overs.

Mitch Hogg and Ben Ca­vanagh took 2-25 and 3-27 re­spec­tively.

Opener Cameron Hath­away was Pin­gelly’s high­est run scorer with 37 be­fore be­ing dis­missed by Ca­vanagh. Pin­gelly posted 7-143 from their 45 overs.

Ford was 79 not out, reach­ing Wil­liams’ tar­get of 144 in the 29th over while bat­ting with Toby Laven­der (17). Wil­liams lost just three wick­ets in the run chase.

Brett Blechyn­den took 1-21 off six overs for Pin­gelly.
