Williams in second after Pingelly rout
Williams sit in second place of the UGSCA during the mid-season break after a dominant seven-wicket victory against Pingelly-Noonebin in round 9.
Captain Rodney Ford was again instrumental in the home side’s victory, choking Pingelly’s run rate — conceding only 11 runs from nine overs.
Mitch Hogg and Ben Cavanagh took 2-25 and 3-27 respectively.
Opener Cameron Hathaway was Pingelly’s highest run scorer with 37 before being dismissed by Cavanagh. Pingelly posted 7-143 from their 45 overs.
Ford was 79 not out, reaching Williams’ target of 144 in the 29th over while batting with Toby Lavender (17). Williams lost just three wickets in the run chase.
Brett Blechynden took 1-21 off six overs for Pingelly.
