Infinite Jest’s Remarkable Journey from Concept to Antarctic Waters

-

With the spirit of exploration and the relentless pursuit of innovation, Turquoise Yachts has once again set a new benchmark in the luxury yacht sector with the delivery of the 75-meter masterpiece Infinite Jest. Embarking on her maiden voyage in July 2023, this exceptional vessel has already traced a formidable path across five continents, covering an astounding 19,699 miles, including a historic journey to the frigid waters of Antarctica.

At the helm of Infinite Jest is Captain Tim Davison, a seasoned navigator whose leadership was instrumental in the yacht’s daring expedition to the southernmost continent. “Leaving the South American continent behind and venturing towards Antarctica was a leap into the unknown,” Davison recalls. The transition into the Antarctic convergence zone brought about a dramatic shift in the environment – from the color of the sea to the emergence of icebergs, signaling their entry into a world of unparalleled adventure and beauty. This expedition was the culmination of nearly three years of meticulous planning, underscoring the team’s dedication and the yacht’s exceptional capabilities.

Following Infinite Jest, Turquoise Yachts is not resting on its laurels. The shipyard is bustling with activity, with six yachts currently under construction. Notably, the 79m Toro is poised for delivery, along with three 2000+GT vessels, among which the 87m Vento represents Turquoise’s most ambitious new build to date. Additionally, a 42m sailing yacht is taking shape, promising to further the brand’s legacy of excellence.

Infinite Jest distinguishes itself with an exterior designed by the renowned Vallicelli Yacht Design, and a first-time collaboration with Sinot for interior architecture and Julie Hillman Design for interior styling. Hillman’s direct involvement has infused the yacht’s interior with a refreshing and unique aesthetic, harmonizing perfectly with the yacht’s sleek and dynamic exterior. The yacht’s design strikes a balance between elegance and power, featuring a distinctive sporty and sophisticated profile. This is particularly evident in the seamless integration of the superstructure and hull, marked by sleek lines and a dynamic silhouette.

One of the yacht’s most remarkable features is its expansive full-beam beach club, which offers direct access to the swimming platform and includes side-opening shell doors extending into sea-level platforms. Additionally, a midship tender garage houses a 10.2m limousine tender, highlighting the yacht’s exceptional focus on luxury and convenience.

Infinite Jest’s journey is more than just a tale of nautical achievement; it’s a narrative of human ambition, technical prowess, and a profound connection with the sea. Turquoise Yachts’ latest delivery is a marvel of modern yacht design and a beacon of adventure, inviting those who board her to explore the boundless possibilities that lie ahead.
