TIFFANY’S STORY
EMPOWERING WOMEN THROUGH CHANGE
Tiffany is studying for her Phd/masters in Psychology (Health) at the University at Adelaide. She is also a mum who wants to create a world where women are empowered to reach their full potential. Tiffany is passionate about creating change for women, promoting women’s health and improving perinatal health. While society places high expectations on women to provide emotional, practical, and financial support, she believes this can put severe strain on women. “A woman’s mental health can impact all members of a family,” Tiffany says. “My area of study addresses this so Australia may grow as a result of community wellbeing.”
WORLD-CLASS EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCES
As part of her scholarship, Tiffany recently attended the 7th World Congress on Women’s Mental Health in Dublin, Ireland. The four-day event hosted experts from around the world sharing the latest thinking and research into mental health issues facing women. Tiffany was blown away by the innovative and, most importantly, preventative approaches from around the world; truly world-class solutions to some of the toughest problems facing women, and our society, today. The contacts Tiffany made are what the scholarship is all about - opening doors, connecting with people and being a part of world class innovation. Tiffany says the experience will directly influence and enrich her research here in Australia. “This scholarship gives me the opportunity to conduct hands-on research and attend conferences where I have the opportunity to connect with experts from around the world. It also enables me to share what I have to offer with like-minded, supportive, passionate people.”
