Princess Mary lost her beloved pooch last week, after 12 years with Ziggy as part of the family. A statement said that the Danish border collie – a wedding gift to the couple in 2004 – had suffered ‘chronic renal failure and osteoarthritis’. Poor Frederik was also left heartbroken after Danish media reported that on one of their last walks together, the prince was so distracted by his phone he let Ziggy run across the road through a red light.
