There’s no doubt about it – Australia has fallen head over heels for softly spoken ‘supernerd’ Issa Schultz. With his endearing, humble nature, The Chase quizmaster has emerged as the breakout star of Hell’s Kitchen.

‘Issa is the star of this show what a breath of fresh air,’ one fan wrote on Facebook.

And now Issa, 33, shows off his sexier side in an exclusive shoot with New Idea, opening up about his love life and new-found status as a bit of a heart-throb.

‘I am a bit overwhelmed by all the attention,’ he says with a chuckle.

‘The attention will end – so why not enjoy it and be happy while you can!’

Last week on the show, a female diner surprised Issa when she gave him her phone number.

And while romance failed to blossom between the two, there’s no shortage of eligible women chasing after the Chaser.

‘I’ve actually had a couple of girls post their number on Twitter,’ he reveals.

‘I wanted to write back and say: “If you want to send your number, send it in a private message because people can see your number.”’

The Brisbane-based brainiac reflects on his encounter with his female admirer in Hell’s Kitchen, admitting he perhaps should have texted her sooner.

‘I can only think that maybe I left it too late,’ he explains.

‘I really wanted to focus on the filming and so I thought I would wait until there was a bit of a break. ‘But Gaz [Beedle] and Willie [Mason] think that’s maybe where my undoing was.’ While Issa’s most recent relationship ended in April, he reveals he is more concerned with a girl’s personality than her looks. ‘My last girlfriend was a blonde, but I don’t mind [about hair colour],’ he says when asked if he prefers blondes or brunettes. ‘There needs to be more than just looks. I love someone with good humour – someone who appreciates life and is open-minded. ‘I need to find someone who brings me balance in my life. As long as they’re patient and not ignorant to the world.’

And single girls out there needn’t worry – Issa isn’t looking for a fellow genius!

‘I love quizzing and knowledge, but that doesn’t mean my partner has to,’ he says.

Admitting he’s ‘very shy’, Issa says he can understand if people think he’s ‘a bit eccentric and a bit nutty’.

But that’s not stopping him in his search for love!

‘I know there will be a niche for that,’ he states.

‘I’m just yet to find the lady that is after that niche. I just have to be patient.’

While Issa may not have found the right girl just yet, he does have the perfect first date planned out.

‘I’m very old-fashioned so I like the dinner and a show thing,’ he says. ‘It’s good to have a bit of fun.’
