ALL-STAR CHRISTMAS

SOME OF OUR FAVE CAROLS PERFORMERS REVEAL THEIR PLANS FOR A COOL YULE

-

TODD MCKENNEY What’s the best/worst Christmas you ever had?

One of the best I ever had was the year Mum and I decided not to have Christmas lunch at home, but go to the Sheraton Hotel on the Gold Coast for their seafood buffet instead. No-one was a slave to the kitchen and we all relaxed together and ate stacks of great food. It was brilliant! The worst time was my first Christmas without my little schnauzer, Barbra. She passed away on Christmas Eve and I was devastated.

What’s the best/worst present you ever received?

I’ve received too many great presents to single one out. However, the worst one ever was a bottle of shampoo!

What’s your favourite Christmas carol/song?

I love Silent Night. It’s such a simple melody with gorgeous lyrics and it’s great seeing everyone at Carols In The Domain sing along to it, holding their candles in the air.

What does Christmas mean to you?

It’s my time to stop work and relax with family and friends. That’s rare for me.

Do you have any special family Christmas traditions?

We only give presents to the kids, so the adults don’t have to stress about what gifts to buy for each other. We all contribute to the food and wine, and it works really well.

What’s on the menu?

Food, food and more food!

Do you have a favourite Christmas recipe?

Food, plus a dash of laughter, with a pinch of sleep in the afternoon!

BIG T What’s your favourite carol/song?

I just love the vibe and melody of Bruce Springsteen’s Merry Christmas Baby. How do you plan to celebrate Christmas this year? I will be in Sydney, enjoying some quality time with extended family.

What’s on the menu?

A big, massive feed of everything. I’m ready!

SAMANTHA JADE What’s your earliest Christmas memory?

I was always so excited on Christmas Eve. My mum would sit on my bed and tell me Christmas stories until I fell asleep.

What’s your favourite carol/song?

O Holy Night, something about the melody is so nostalgic.

What does Christmas mean to you?

It’s all about family and giving, bringing things back to what’s important – love and hope.

How will you celebrate Christmas this year?

Back home in Perth, just family, good food, lots of love and board games.
