After a string of high-profile heartbreaks have left her labelled ‘unlucky in love’, Delta Goodrem appears to have finally found happiness in the arms of a hunky Aussie musician.
After quietly dating for several weeks, Delta and guitarist Matthew Copley can no longer hide their love – packing on the PDAS while enjoying a romantic holiday in Hawaii over the New Year.
‘They couldn’t keep their hands off each other... if I didn’t know better, I would have mistaken them for honeymooners,’ an onlooker tells New Idea.
‘They were holding hands and kissing constantly – they were clearly completely wrapped up in each other.’
The unrestrained moments of passion not only left plenty of fellow Kauai holidaymakers turning their heads, the duo also sparked speculation that Delta may even have a baby on board!
‘Delta couldn’t seem to keep her hands from cradling her tummy and Matthew kept touching it too – it definitely sent alarm bells ringing,’ says the source.
Adding further fuel to the fire, Delta, 33, kept her midsection conspicuously covered by sporting a pair of white pants over her swimwear.
Pals are hoping Delta has finally found the long-lasting love she’s been searching for, having fallen in love with Matthew when he joined the
Aussie starlet on her national Wings Of The Wild tour.
While she’d hoped to have found that love with Aussie actor Hugh Sheridan – with the pair sharing a flurry of loved-up social media posts in recent months – it seems that romance fizzled, with the pair deciding to stay friends instead.
‘Delta really hasn’t had a long-term relationship since she broke up with Brian [Mcfadden],’ a pal tells New Idea. ‘She’s loved and lost a few times since, and it would be great to finally see her settle down and have someone to share life’s highs and lows with.’
Adds another source: ‘After months of talking about marriage and even babies, Hugh and Delta basically realised they were better off as friends rather than anything more. They will always adore each other and Hugh wasn’t joking when he said any man would be lucky to have Delta, but for now love isn’t on the cards for them.
‘Hugh’s really excited to see Delta happy with Matthew though, and wishes them all the best.’
With rockstar good looks to match his jetsetting lifestyle, Matthew’s music career sees him flying around the world to rub shoulders with the rich and famous, sharing the stage with the likes of The Weeknd and One Direction.
The nephew of Lizzy Morrissey and her celebrity agent husband Mark Morrissey, and the best friend of Aussie chart-topper Conrad Sewell, Delta’s new man may run in A-list circles, but his love life to date has been decidedly monogamous – previously enjoying long-term relationships

Now comfortable enough to post photos of each other on their respective Instagram accounts, the duo appear ready to take their romance public, with Matthew even posting a video of the two ‘jamming’ together – highlighting their shared passion for music.
Refusing to publicly discuss her love life, maintaining she ‘[doesn’t] want to be the person that talks about that’, Delta has most recently been linked to her House Husbands co-star Hugh Sheridan, and has previously dated the likes of Mark Philippoussis, Nick Jonas, Drew Mitchell and DJ Chris Stafford.
But while she keeps her cards close to her chest when it comes to romance, Delta has been open about her deep desire to one day settle down and start a family after going through what she describes as a ‘wild chapter’.
‘I love kids and I’m definitely looking forward to that chapter in my life, I really am!’ says the star, who explains that when she finally becomes a mother she will ‘give it my everything’.
And while it remains to be seen whether Matthew turns out to be another fling or the real deal, Delta appears happy to let fate take its course and remains philosophical, saying: ‘You know, for the first time ever in my whole life, genuinely, I don’t know where it goes.’
