Mum-of-five Nannette Hammond has spent over $600k in her 30-year quest to be a human Barbie.

The 42-year-old American was obsessed with Barbie as a child and owned more than 50 dolls.

‘Growing up, I felt shy and self-conscious about my looks and wanted to be just like the dolls,’ Nannette has said.

‘I imagined they would always be happy and I felt drab in comparison. I didn’t like my hair, and as a teen I really wanted bigger breasts.

‘I started going on sunbeds when I was 16 to get Barbie’s colouring.’

At 21, Nannette had her first breast enhancement and began dyeing her brunette hair Barbie blonde. Since then she’s had two more boob jobs, as well as a breast lift, veneers and regular Botox injections. Her lips are also plumped with collagen filler and she gets fake tans regularly.

Nannette lives with husband Dave, 47, and their five, privateschool educated children in a 10-bedroom home that has nine bathrooms and three walk-inwardrobes – which have been converted into a ‘Barbie playroom’. Dave also spoilt Nannette with three customised Barbie cars, including a pink Porsche.

Both he and their children – Antonio, five, Alex, 10, Sofia, 12, Giovanni, 15, and Hannah, 16 – support Nannette wholeheartedly. The kids even take pictures of their mum for her Instagram page.

‘I know other mums talk and gossip about me behind my back, but I really don’t care. Parents can think what they want,’ says Nannette.
