Farewell to Jessica Falkholt
HUNDREDS GATHERED TO TEARFULLY FAREWELL THE ‘GORGEOUS SOUL’
Only 12 days after the funeral of her mother, father and younger sister, actress Jessica Falkholt has been farewelled by her family and friends in an emotional funeral at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Sydney.
The former Home And Away actress died last week, after she and her family were involved in a horrific Boxing Day car crash near Ulladulla on the south coast of NSW.
Jessica’s parents, Lars and Vivian, died at the scene, while the two sisters were pulled from the wreck – but Annabelle, 21, died in hospital three days later. Jessica, 29, continued to fight for her life, but tragically passed away six days after her life support was switched off.
Hundreds of mourners embraced outside the church as they arrived for the service.
‘We look forward to putting this horrible period behind us, while cherishing the memories we have with our friend, Jess,’ her close pals said in a statement. ‘The past weeks have been a time of unimaginable trauma.’
Choking back tears, her uncle Paul Ponticello reportedly praised the people that risked their lives to pull Jessica and her sister from the wreck, and revealed that it was difficult to come to terms with the loss the family has suffered.
‘An entire family has been taken by events totally beyond their control... What occurred does not fit neatly within the definition of accident,’ he said. ‘Beautiful Jess, you made us proud. You were a rising star. Shine bright above us, you will always be remembered and in our hearts forever.’
The young actress appeared on Home And Away and the soon-to-be released film Harmony, before her life was tragically taken. Fellow Home And Away stars Pia Miller, Jackson Heywood, Philippa Northeast and Isabella Giovinazzo were among the hundreds who gathered to farewell this young soul.
