We endlessly make comparisons

It’s only natural that we compare our lives to our friends on social media, but does social media provide a window into someone’s real life or just how they would like us to perceive their lives?

Nikki says: ‘I call this #generationexhibition. I chat with clients about ensuring they follow accounts that are authentic, that we need to question more and take less at face value. To choose who we have as “friends” more carefully and treat social media with the same level of respect and boundaries as if you would have someone in your home.’

Nikki believes a major contributor to anxiety is FOMO (fear of missing out). She says if you’re put off by the lack of authenticity in social media, ‘be the change you want to see.’
