The comedic duo hit it off from the get-go during their time in the jungle, with Fiona describing their friendship as ‘just heaven on a stick’.
The 54-year-old comedian wasn’t so generous when it came to describing some of her other jungle friends. ‘I won’t be ever going out of my way – in fact I’d cross the road – before I’d ever be in contact with David Oldfield again,’ she spat.
However, Fiona did like model Simone Holtznagel. ‘She did those challenges, not just with courage, but with a grin! It was like Grace Kelly eating a testicle, if you can imagine such a thing,’ she laughed.
The reality TV win symbolises a turn of luck for Fiona, whose well-known struggle with alcoholism almost ended her life prior to her appearing on the show.
‘Untreated addiction really only has three endings... and that’s death, jail, and institution. So that’s where I was heading, to one of those, and I went to death... as close as you could get.’
