House Rules’ Kate and Harry pull the plug – after nine years

HOUSE RULES RUNNERS-UP HAVE SEPARATED AFTER NINE YEARS TOGETHER

-

Adelaide parents Kate Whiting and James ‘Harry’ Harris have amicably parted. The couple made an announcement on Kate’s Instagram page, breaking the news to their loyal fans.

‘It is with great sadness we share that Harry and I are no longer together,’ the reality star wrote, alongside a photo of the couple with their threeyear-old son Xavier.

It is believed Kate, 29, and Harry, 32, split in November and plan to sell their house, which was renovated on the reality TV series.

‘Over the last few months we have been making this transition process as smooth as possible for our little man,’ Kate continued.

‘We are both committed to co-parenting Xave, with his wellbeing as our number one priority.’

Last month, Kate, a model, told an Adelaide newspaper she and her partner of nine years ‘just drifted apart’ after filming wrapped up last year.

‘We remain great friends and look forward to what the next chapter brings,’ Kate wrote on Instagram.

The former couple appear to be getting on with their separated lives – Harry recently completing a charity bike ride and Kate being named the face for the Adelaide Cup horse race.

Kate and Harry were renowned for their emotional conflicts during House Rules, however they previously told New Idea they moved on from fights ‘pretty quickly’.

‘Harry and I have our moments,’ Kate said during the show last year.

‘But we knew that coming into this anyway. Luckily, we get over things pretty quickly and we can end up laughing at ourselves in the end.’

In fact, when filming ended less than a year ago, Kate and carpenter Harry confessed to New Idea they had been planning to have a second child.

‘We want another one ASAP,’ Kate had said, before Harry quickly jumped in saying, ‘I want a little girl!’

‘If we have another boy we’ll definitely go again to try and get a girl,’ continued Kate.

‘I can see us with three.’
