DELTA’ S BABY BLUES

BECOMING AN AUNT AGAIN IS BITTERSWEET

-

She’s one of Australia’s most successful, popular, and indemand entertainers, but recently, it would appear that Delta Goodrem’s heart has been elsewhere.

Making an emergency dash to Adelaide last week, the songstress made it clear that there was something else far more important than just her work commitments.

The 33-year-old dropped everything to be by her brother Trent’s side as he welcomed a new baby – and it was clear for all to see that the clucky star couldn’t contain her excitement over the new family member.

‘Delta has a lot on at the moment. She just launched her new perfume and was jetting from one country to another for media commitments. Her feet have barely touched the ground, but she knew no matter what happened she wanted to be there to meet that baby,’ said a source.

The smitten star has made no secret of her desire to have her own family one day. And while she vows that ‘all her love is directed to’ the children her brother shares with his wife, Carly, friends say becoming an aunt for the second time has been bittersweet.

‘Delta is practically living out of a suitcase,’ spills the friend. ‘She wants nothing more than to settle down and have a permanent place to call home, with kids of her own – little cousins for Nate and the new baby.’ But after her recent break-up with Matthew Copley and a string of failed romances, including the likes of Mark Philippoussis, Brian Mcfadden, Nick Jonas and Drew Mitchell – not to mention the fact she doesn’t actually know if she will even be able to conceive after having gone through cancer treatment 15 years ago – the star’s baby dream seems further away than ever. ‘Delta does seem a little down right now,’ continues the friend. ‘She’s not her usual bubbly self. Hopefully her time back in Australia with family will be just what she needs to regroup.’

‘DELTA DOES SEEM A LITTLE DOWN RIGHT NOW... SHE’S NOT HER USUAL BUBBLY SELF’
