SOPHIE MONK

THE BELOVED TV PERSONALITY SHARES HER BEAUTY SECRETS

-

Much-loved Australian actress, singer and songwriter Sophie Monk opens up to New Idea on the beauty and hair tricks she’s learnt from being surrounded by industry experts in her career in front of the camera – and the five products she simply can’t live without … What’s advice the you’ve best beauty learnt being many around hair and so makeup artists? A little goes a long way! I always dab a little bit of highlighter on my cheekbones (or even use Vaseline Lip Therapy on my collarbones!) for that dewy, glowy look. What beauty advice did your mum pass on? Not to put products with perfume on your face. And if you have a daughter, what would be the one piece of advice you would pass on? Don’t pick your pimples because they scar. You’re the Lipbassador for Vaseline. Can you tell us what you love about the products? Vaseline has been a trusted household member of mine since I can remember. When they asked me to be their first official Lipbassador, I was stoked because it’s been the one product that’s never changed in my bathroom since I was a kid. Having seen the cult success of Vaseline Lip Therapy in the UK, it’s something I now always have with me. Do you have a favourite skin treatment? I’m so lucky to always be introduced to new products, so what I use is ever-changing. Right now I’m using Bobby Brown’s Vitamin Moisturiser and Vitamin Enriched Face Base, Modelco tanning products and Clinique’s Moisture Surge Face Spray. What are your thoughts on Botox and fillers? Whatever makes you happy and feel confident – I’m personally too lazy to do it. Do you have a favourite way to treat or pamper yourself on a day off? Chuck on my Uggs, order Uber Eats and stay on the couch! What would we be surprised to find in your beauty kit? Food colouring for a lip stain. Tell us about your worst beauty or hair disaster. How long do you have? My list is too long! The worst combination is when I had a camel toe, hair extensions and orange tan on the red carpet … What is your go-to date night look? For date night, I usually go for an outfit I feel comfortable in so that I know it looks good and I’m not fidgeting all night. Finally, spritz some perfume on and keep a Lip Therapy tin handy in your clutch! Favourite exercise? No favourites… What is your ideal holiday destination? Mykonos!
